Jacksonport Advancement Corporation

The purpose of the Jacksonport Advancement Corporation is to promote Jacksonport as a family playground; work for the betterment of the community; and to accept, use, hold, manage, purchase or dispose of property (real or personal) given, transferred or bequeathed to JAC. In case of real property, the Town of Jacksonport must be willing to accept such property before acceptance by the JAC.

Community events: Maifest

Maifest, a Memorial Day weekend tradition, includes a juried art fair; midway activities for children; concession stands selling funnel cakes, kolaches, brats and hot dogs; live music; and bounce houses. The Maifest parade is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, a 10K run and 2-mile fun run at Lakeside Park on Sunday at 9 a.m.; the 4-H Horse and Pony Drill Team and Frontier Farmers horse pull at the ball field beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Jacksonport Area Business Association

Jacksonport Firefighters Association

The purpose of the association is to promote better fire-service relationships; assist in the promotion of the community welfare; endeavor to elevate fire departments as a whole; and cooperate with any organizations in the area to accomplish our mutual cause.

Jacksonport Historical Society

The purpose of the Jacksonport Historical Society is to educate and preserve for future generations the history and development of the township. At monthly meetings families share their ancestral heritage through stories, pictures and heirlooms. This information later is published for sale with the intention of establishing a museum to display and record the history and artifacts of Jacksonport. Videos are also made of the presentations for the archives.

Cherry Fest: August 3, 2024 at Lakeside Park

Cherry Fest is a fantastic art fair featuring unique handmade items from many of your returning favorite artists as well as many amazing first times and all things cherry — pie, ice cream, pie fillings, fresh cherries, cherry brats, cherry hamburgers and many other delicious food items.  Penny hunt on the beach for the younger set, a horse-drawn wagon ride and a variety of musical performances ongoing all day long. There’s a booth featuring books produced by the historical society about the history of local families. Be sure to take a tour of a restored root cellar at the Erskine Rest Area, across Wisconsin 57 from Lakeside Park.

Jacksonport Polar Bear Club

The mission of the Jacksonport Polar Bear Club, Ltd., is to promote and oversee the group's annual plunge into Lake Michigan to maximize the safety of all participants and spectators involved with the event.

Community events: Polar Bear Plunge

Noon on New Year's Day at Lakeside Park in Jacksonport hundreds of swimmers run into Lake Michigan, cheered by several thousand spectators. Swimmers get a free certificate for participating. Arrive early to sign a liability release waiver prior to the plunge.

Shores of Jacksonport Neighborhood Association

The Shores of Jacksonport Neighborhood Association (SJNA) was formed in May 2007 to advance and protect the area. It is a voluntary organization with the purposes of providing a collective voice on local issues originating and completing projects for the betterment of the neighborhood, and promoting a sense of community among the area’s property owners.
