TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Ben Logerquist.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the agenda, for the September 27, 2005 meeting as presented.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of August 23, 2005 as distributed.
Treasurers Report: Treasurer Carol Oram reported as of August 31, 2005, a balance of $251,193.67. An invoice for animal control is still outstanding. Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Brad Bley said that the Jacksonport Volunteer Fire Department is recruiting new members. Ten have signed up for training. The Town fire department has moved a trailer to the town gravel pit. It will be used for search and rescue training.
County Board report by Keri Anderson
Eric Wickstrom from The Jacksonport Advancement Corporation made the following offer to the Town:
$8,200 was approved with restrictions:
Ball Field Improvements $8,500 – will pay ½ if Town will pay ½*
Landscaping along north edge of parking lot $1,500 – will pay ½ if Town will pay ½*
Lakeside Park Berm and floral improvements $850 – contingent on Park upkeep plan*
Copy machine for Town Hall $2,395 – will pay $600 if other groups will share cost
Town Hall bathroom improvements $1000 – pending match approval from Jacksonport Women’s Club
*Will Town Board consider additional budged expense to improve upkeep in Park and Ball field? Will a Town Supervisor accept responsibility to direct park upkeep?
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to table any decisions until the October Town Board meeting.
The following people will make up the Lakeview Cemetery Committee. Aaron LeClair,
Alvin Scharrig and Robert Kufrin.
Dog/nuisance ordinance: Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to table until the October Town Board meeting.
Tree trimming at the Rushes – George will ok the work.
Town will seek bids from local tree service people to trim the trees at Lakeside Park.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to continue using Lakes Gas Co. as provider of heating fuel for the Town Hall / Fire Station.
The Budget workday was scheduled for October 18, 2005, 6:00 p.m. at the Clerks house. The Budget Hearing date was scheduled for November 17, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to accept 764 as the population estimate for the Town of Jacksonport.
Town Board reviewed the information to be provided to the State of Wisconsin, Local Government Property Insurance Fund.
The 2005 County Equalization Report was made available. George stated Jacksonport’s values:
Real Estate 240,357,400
Pers. Prop. 630,900
Total 240,988,300
% to Total .03916
Petition for Grant of Variance (Applicant: Lisa Merle F. Cook, Tax Parcel No: 016-00-33292744F1) Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to support granting the variance. Clerk will so advise the Door County Planning Department.

- Jacksonport Advancement Corporation / Jacksonport Women’s Club
Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
