TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Ben Logerquist.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace. Absent: Treasurer Carol.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the agenda for the September 25, 2007 meeting as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of August 28, 2007 as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Special Town Board meeting of August 23, 2007 as presented.
Treasurer absent, no report.
Meeting open for public Comment. Del Herrbold made the comment that he was against sidewalks in the Village of Jacksonport.
County Board report. Among items reported by Kari Anderson she indicated that the grant application decision whether or not to fund the Schauer Park feasibility study should be made by October or November. She also said that the remodeling of the Door County Government offices was scheduled to start in November 2007.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to sign the contract with the Door County Soil and Water Conservation Department, “Beach Contamination Reduction Planning Cooperative Agreement: Final Construction Plans.” The Town of Jacksonport will be responsible for 30 percent of the total fee of $7,000, which makes the Town’s, share $2,100.
Warning lights for the north and south ends of the Village. George said the cost per light is estimated to be about $1,200 per unit. Subject Tabled.
Driveway Ordinance. Tabled.
Grant for sidewalk/footpath. Gathering information at this time.
Land Use Plan. Tabled.
A Joint Public Hearing, including the Town of Jacksonport and the Town of Sevastopol will be held November 12, 2007 at 7:00 pm. The subject will be seeking public comment on the proposed ordinance - “A SOLE ORDINANCE TO REGULATE BOATING UPON THE WATERS OF CLARK LAKE AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF”
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to pass Resolution No. 4-2007 – “Resolution to Allow the Door County Humane Society and Local Veterinarians to Act as Collecting Officials for the Town of Jacksonport”
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to apply for TRIP, LRIP funds for road construction on N Cave Pt. Drive.
Jon Jarosh gave a summary of the tourism industry
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to appoint Elizabeth LeClair as the Town of Jacksonport alternate member of the Tourism Zone Commission.
Eileen will advise County Clerk Jill Lau, that the Town of Jacksonport is willing to allow the County Board to use our Town Hall, (free of charge) for some of their meetings, while their office space is under construction/remodeling.
