Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2006
Attending: Kari Anderson, Alvin Scharrig, Tom Wilson, J.R. Jarosh.

Meeting called to order by Kari Anderson.
Motion to approve agenda-passed.
Motion to approve previous minutes-passed.
Kari Anderson was nominated and elected chairperson.
Public Comments:
Both residents Richard Dirks, and Joanne Kuhns shared their interest in maintaining the low density population that Jacksonport presently has. They also wanted to see controls on developments in the future.
The Door County Planning department housing report was shared, and made a part of the committee records. Copies are available at the county zoning office.
Discussion on the 2001 Jacksonport land plan use continued, with review of the document, and preliminary changes were penciled in. Those changes will be reviewed over the next meetings, and are not individually addressed here.
Because of the size and population of Jacksonport, a plan is not required. However Jacksonport has chosen to continue its land use planning. To help facilitate that, the county will be providing assistance from the BayLakes Regional Planning group, and help from within the planning department. At present, the Housing Report is done, with work proceeding on the Transportation Plan. Future work will include the Land Use Plan which is scheduled for 2008. The committee desires to utilize those resources as part of the plan, and work with the counties time table.
Town maps were reviewed. Of note were slight additions to public lands over the previous plan.
Goals and expectations were discussed, with the plan to work within the Counties timeframe, and the utilization of those resources to update the plan presently in place.
Next meeting: December 5, 6:30, Jacksonport Town Hall.
