TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Pete Larson.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace. Treasurer Carol Oram was absent.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the agenda for the October 24, 2006 meeting as presented.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of September 26, 2006.
Treasurers Report: The bank balance as of September 29, 2006 was $116,686.18. Jacksonport Historical Society has paid to the Town of Jacksonport $675.00 toward the PA system. A letter will be going out with the tax bills as in past years. If there is any information that the board would like to include in the letter, please inform the treasurer at the November meeting. This is a good means of contacting all taxpayers in the town. The information must be kept to a one sheet insert. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Mark Stager would like Schauer Park on the November Town Board meeting agenda. He would like to see improvements made to the dock. George Penney would be able to attend the next meeting.
County Board report presented by Kari Anderson. Kari pointed out that the Door County Public Library has videos available of County Board meetings.
The Jacksonport Town Board may attend the open house and information meeting at the Door County Highway Department on November 9, 2006. The Clerk should post notice of the meeting.
Reminder - Budget Hearing date is set for November 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to pass Town of Jacksonport Resolution No. 3-06
The Town Board hereby supports an Increase in the Town Tax Levy for 2006 (to be collected in 2007) to Exceed the State Levy Limit.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to accept Action Appraisers & Consultants bid for 2007 of $10,950 for the 2007 maintenance assessment year.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) [Aaron – abstained] to approve a liquor license Square Rigger Galley (John Billington) for the period ending June 30, 2007.
Jacksonport Land Use Committee: reminder – November 29, 2006 will be the next meeting for the County. The next meeting of the Jacksonport Land Use Committee is scheduled for December 5, 2006 at 6:30 at the Town Hall. Minutes were presented from the October 3, 2006 meeting, see attached.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to donate $500 to the Door County Humane Society in 2007.

Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
