November 16, 2006 Budget Hearing, Special Town Meeting, Special Board Meeting
TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BUDGET HEARING
Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Town Hall
The budget hearing was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall. Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace. There were twelve other people from the township. The town board gave a detailed explanation of the need to exceed the State of Wisconsin town tax levy which revolved around deteriorating town roads. This was followed by a lengthy discussion. Motion (Brad Bley/Alvin Scharrig/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
TOWN OF JACKSONPORT SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
The special town meeting was called to order at 8:15 pm immediately following the budget hearing.
Motion (Brad Bley/Elizabeth LeClair/Passed) [fourteen yes; one no] to endorse the town board resolution to increase the town tax levy for 2006 (collected in 2007) by .378 percentage over the past year levy limit, which is an increase of $105,586 over the 2005 town tax levy for a total town tax levy of $384,946 for 2006..
Motion (Brad Bley/Terry Simon/Passed) to adopt the 2006 town tax levy of $384,946.
Motion (Brad Bley/Paul Ozburn/Passed) to approve the budgeted amount of $338,920 for total highway expenditures for 2007.
Motion (Alvin Scharrig/Paul Ozburn/Passed) to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
TOWN OF JACKSONPORT SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
The special board meeting was called to order at 8:22 pm, immediately following the Special Town Meeting by Chairman George Bagnall.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to adopt the town budget as presented.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:24 pm.
