JACKSONPORT TOWN HALL REMODELING COMMITTEE
6/30/04
The Jacksonport Town Hall Remodeling Committee meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall by Chairman Al Birnschein. Present were Chairman Al Birnschein, George Bagnall, Jeanne Majeski, Darrel Birnschein, Brad Bley, Pete and Marlene Larson.
1. CLOSET - 8x10 Tables on one side, chairs on other with walkway between. Shelves to be put above tables, 36” wide door about 2-3 feet from window.
2. VOTING BOOTHS - 4 collapsible voting booths, one which will be handicap accessible. How wide should they be? Will need extra lighting.
3. CEILING – Jarabek suggests keeping the old ceiling and adding more insulation. Inspectors say ceiling should not go below 8 feet, 5/8” sheet rock on ceiling. Remove old ceiling and insulate with volunteer help. Blow more insulation in hallway
4. Remove walls, lighting cabinets, furniture with volunteer help
5. LIGHTING - 16 recessed light fixtures with parabolic lens (2x4 with 3 or 4 tubes in each) slave lighting, energy efficient. Should we put lighting along edge?
6. WALLS – TV mount, chalkboard on wall. Sheetrock with 2 coats plaster with light skip troweling (with Randy Alberts)
7. Access hole to get in attic
8. PAINT – 1 coat primer and 1 topcoat. Jeanne and Marlene can pick out color of paint for room. Darrel uses Sherwin Williams. Try to get color palette (They have an office on Main Street in Green Bay. Otherwise get color palette from elsewhere and Darrel will try to match.
9. WINDOWS – Darrel will order windows, double hung, vinyl clad with wood extension jams to stain and varnish to match rest of woodwork, definitely not crank outs. 2 Anderson windows, 5’x4 7/8’ wide, TW24310 white. Dry wall will go to window making molding unnecessary.
10. COAT RACK – 6 foot
11. ELECTRICAL – Do extra outlets and phone jacks
12. CABINETS – Replace. 39” for top. Darrel allowed about $210 per foot (30 feet=$6300.00). This also includes countertop. Lakeview Lumber and Cabinet Cove will be checked for prices, etc. Look into the possibility of a portable island. Jeanne and Marlene will look at designs and come up with a plan and also pick out stain for door.
Committee voted unanimously to go with time and materials with Darrel Birnschein for the project.
Al will check into whether we need a permit for the county.
