TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Chairman Alvin Birnschein.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Ben Logerquist.
Present: Chairman Alvin Birnschein, Supervisors George Bagnall and Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the agenda, for the June 28th meeting as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/Alvin/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of May 24, 2005 as distributed.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the minutes of the June 4, 2005 Board of Review as distributed.
Treasurers Report: Treasurer Carol Oram reported as of May 31, 2005, a balance of $213,800.91. The Town has received the computer state aid in the amount of $20.00. Personal property tax has been paid, so the establishment has received their liquor license. Motion (Alvin/George/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Kari Anderson complemented the Jacksonport Advancement Corporations improvements, the new sign, landscaping and five maple trees. She also recommends improvement to a gully in Lakeside Park.
County Board report by Keri Anderson: She suggests that the Town of Jacksonport will not have to proceed with a Smart Growth plan.
Lakeview Cemetery Committee presented a Draft Ordinance Establishing and Regulating Town Cemeteries. George acknowledged that a lot of work has gone into the preparation of it. Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to table.
Jamie Forrest, a representative from Brilliant Cities spoke.
Petition for Zoning Amendment – Map (Applicant: Parent Development, LLC) Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to not support the petition. Clerk will so advise the Door County Planning Department.
Open bids for proposed road work.
- Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) opposed by Alvin, to go with Northeast Asphalt, Inc. for the work on Clark Lake Rd., .44 mile.
- Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to table further road work discussion/action until a Special Town Board meeting to be held on July 7, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (Alvin/Jeanne/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
