TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Al Scharrig.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Treasurer Carol Oram, and Deputy Clerk Marlene Larson. Absent: Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to accept the agenda for the June 27, 2006 meeting with one notation. The applicant for the Conditional Use permit is the Jacksonport Historical Society, not Stella Maris as listed on the Door County Planning Dept. petition.
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of May 23, 2006.
Treasurers Report: Carol reported that the bank balance at the end of May was $179,188.77. Four liquor licenses have been issued. There are still three delinquent personal property taxes. The first one is uncollectible because the business was closed. Carol will contact Action Appraisers about this. She will rebill the second person. The 3rd is tied to the liquor license. The town received a check from the state in the amount of $23.00 for computer aids. Reminder that the second half of the tax bills are due at the end of July. Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Kari Anderson reported that the Land Use Committee met earlier to review the plan. Members present were: Kari, Tom Wilson, and Al Scharrig. Absent were J.R. Jarosh and Paul Osborne. All are invited to attend.
County Board report by Keri Anderson: No report, board meeting on 28th.
Lakeview Cemetery: Aaron & Al would like to do more research on the stone and placement of names on the stone.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to sign franchise agreement with Brilliant Cities.
Reminder: Open book will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 10 a. m., Board of Review will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., both will be held on July 15, 2006 at the Jacksonport Town Hall.
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to approve liquor license for Sweet Lou’s (Lynn Bakken) pending release from Dept. of Revenue and payment of personal property taxes by July 31.
Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) that the Town of Jacksonport take a negative position on the application for a conditional use permit by Stella Maris (Jacksonport Historical Society) for the use of Parish Hall at St. Michael’s Church in Jacksonport. According to input from those in attendance, many issues are unresolved regarding the use of the hall creating bad feeling among parishioners.

Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
