TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall
Chairman George Bagnall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Al Scharrig led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace. Carol Oram was absent.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the agenda for the June 24, 2008 meeting as presented.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Town Board meeting of May 27, 2008 as presented. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Town Board meeting of June 7, 2008 as presented. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Town Board meeting of June 12, 2008 as presented.
Treasurer Report: No report.
Public Comment. There was much discussion of the proposed Ordinance No. 2008-05. Comments included but not limited to the following:
Tom Donovon – do not disregard earlier Town Board opinions
Daniel Meunier – concerned that the entire quarry site may go commercial, possible costly sewer system. Smart Growth initiative would help guide the Town
Elizabeth LeClair – Square Rigger was originally opposed. In that corner three businesses already exist. Need to welcome new businesses. She is in favor of the Ordinance.
Clinton Seely – Observed no support form the Town residents.
Eric Frost – opposed to the change. Ad hoc is not a good thing. To change for just one request seem wrong.
Adam Drossart, - appreciates the Town Boards patience. Need for increased infrastructure is an invalid claim.
Kari Anderson – The Town does have a Land Use Plan. She summarized the events covering this subject to date.
Mark Moede – entrance to the Town needs to show what Jacksonport is.
Mary White – please explore other options, example The Nature Conservancy, The Jacksonport Historical Society, etc.
County Board report. No report.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to approve Ordinance No. 2008-05 Jacksonport Zoning Map Amendment - Century Property Management Group (Jeanne opposed). Clerk will so notify the Door County Clerk Jill Lau.
The “Beach Storm Water Management, Lakeside Beach in Jacksonport” final report prepared by Miller Engineers & Scientists was summarized by Amanda Brown of the Door County Soil & Water Department. The Town has two copies of the final report and can be viewed by contacting the Town Clerk.
Town Chairman will publish a bid request for the TRIP project on N. Cave Pt Drive. Bids will be opened at the July 22, 2008 meeting.
Eileen will post and email the request for submission of logo art ideas for an official town logo. Please submit original hard copy to any town board member before the July 22, 2008 meeting.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to support the amended version of the Door County Tourism Zone Commission Ordinance dated May 28, 2008. Clerk will so notify the Commission.
Correspondence was made available to the Town Board members.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept and approve payment of the invoices that had been submitted to the Town.

- Greg Coulthurst, Door County Soil & Water Conservation Dept. to discuss County Storm Water Ordinance
- Town roads, including bids for TRIP project on N. Cave Pt Drive
