June 24, 2003 June Board Meeting
TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Firestation
The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairman Al Birnschein. Present: Chairman Al Birnschein, Supervisors George Bagnall and Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram and Clerk Teri Stauber. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Changes made to the statement - Non-profit groups within the town are not charged. ( Must present Cert.of Insurance when Alcohol is being served.) Motion (GEORGE./JEANNE/PASSED) to accept the change of the minutes as read.
Treasurer Carol Oram reported a balance of 167,953.01. Dept.of Revenue check for 21.00.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) to accept the treasurer's report.
Motion (GEORGE/AL/PASSED) to give permission to plant a tree in memory of the Owen Family.
Discussion on Schauer Park was tabled until a later date.
Motion (GEORGE/AL/PASSED) that the issue of sidewalks is a dead issue until the town gets a petition directing us.
Motion (GEORGE/AL/PASSED) for the plans and improvements on the doors and improvements on the lighting and revising the entrance.
Discussion of Charter Cable is tabled until next month.
Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) to accept the bid from Northeastern Power Assoc. of 1,668.00 for the 1955 Chevy Fire Truck.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) that we don't do anything about the speed limit on Bochek Road.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) that we stay with Kathy Meister as our cleaning person, but that we sit down with her about the job descriptions.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) to keep Pit road open.
Motion (GEORGE/AL/PASSED) to accept Scott's bid of 48,546.00 for road repair.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) to say no at this point with the County on Smart Growth the way it stands at this point.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSSED) to hold a special town meeting for the sole purpose of discussing the constable wages.
Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) to approve all Seven (7) Liquor Licenses as discussed.
Motion(AL/GEORGE/PASSED) to authorize Teri to make the other licenese available to whoever needs them (cig.,soda and operators).
Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M.
