TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Firestation
The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Chairman Alvin Birnschein. Present: Chairman Alvin Birnschein,
Supervisors George Bagnall and Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion (Jeanne/Al/Passed) to accept the minutes as read.
Treasurer Carol Oram reported as of May 31, 2004, a balance of $184,333.68. Computer Aid received from the State
of Wisconsin $15.00. Received - Yield Tax from Forest Crop $90.44. Received - Managed Land from the State,
$439.74. Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment:
Bob Schutt is starting a Petition to request that the Wisconsin State Highway Department change all of
Highway 57 through the Residential area of Jacksonport to a no-passing zone with double yellow lines.
Tom Donovan reports a flashing bulb in Schauer Park. Al will call Public Service.
County Board report not presented. Keri requested, by email, that we excuse her from the meeting.
Cleaning Service. Town board asked Kathy Meister, who was present, to schedule cleaning every other week starting
with July 1, 2004 service. The Town also requested that she invoice the Town on a monthly basis. She agreed. The
Town will supply the toilet paper and the paper towels. No laundering of towels.
Weight Limits for Roads. Town will have Attorney Randy Nesbitt review it before they sign it. It will be signed at the
July Town Board Meeting if it sounds all right with the Town Board Members.
Contract with Independent Inspections, Ltd. Meeting planned with Representative, Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at
7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall. Table until July Town Board Meeting (Jeanne/George/Passed).
Town Hall Renovation Committee Meeting planned for, Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.
Onyx Recycling Service Agreement. Table (Al/George/Passed).
Hire Maintenance Help for the Town. Table (Al/Jeanne/Passed).
Road Agreements. Put on hold until July meeting. Motion to give Baileys Harbor Agreement back to Jane Pluff,
Baileys Harbor and have them redo it and then we will sign it, because it is now right. Motion
(Jeanne/George/Passed). Egg Harbor Agreement Tabled.
Permission for the "Blacksmith" to spend overnight at the Erskine rest area for the Cherry Fest, August 7, 2004.
Motion to grant permission (George/Jeanne/Passed).
Door County Planning Department. Motion (George/Al/Passed) to Go Along With the Petition for Zoning
Amendment - Text - Resource Planning Committee - Regarding the Deregulation of Communication Towers. Town
Clerk will so advise the Door County Planning Department.
Correspondence: Letter from Clark Lake Advancement Association to both the Sevastopol and Jacksonport Town
Boards. Thank you for continuing support, most recently the final modifications to the West Shore Boat Ramp. Invite
you and your designees to the July 3rd Clark Lake Advancement Association Annual Meeting. Also, invite you to the
Clark Lake Association July 24 Annual Picnic at Lakeside Park.
Ray Drake supplied a map in reference to the subdivision going into Jacksonport.
Patrick Eaton reported there was disappointment that no representative from Jacksonport attended the June 2, 2004
meeting of the Door County Land Conservation Committee, regarding the May 25 water over the road issue.

Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 10:12 P.M.
