TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by Chairman Alvin Birnschein. Present: Chairman Alvin Birnschein, Supervisors George Bagnall and Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the agenda, for the January 25th meeting as presented.
The minutes of the regular meeting of December 21, 2004, were ordered corrected replacing the month December for November in the Treasurers Report. Motion (Jeanne/Alvin/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of December 21, 2004 as corrected and distributed.
Treasurers Report: Treasurer Carol Oram reported as of December 31, 2004, a balance of $905,187.39. The Town received $12,052.61 from the November shared revenue. Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Ann Sheridan spoke, to support the request from Sue and Robert Hyson, to purchase cemetery plots.
County Board report by Keri Anderson. The Door County Resource Planning Committee (RPC) approved the conditional use permit requested by Richard and Helen LeClair. The RPC ruled in favor of E. Karl Kangas zoning amendment petition. The Town Clerk responded to Keri's request for information on the cost of legal fees regarding the contested work on Logerquist Road. The cost was $1,734.00, as of January 25, 2005.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to Table the discussion of Lake Michigan access on Jorns Road until Summer.
Motion (George/Alvin/Passed) to Table the discussion of Lakeview Cemetery until the February Town Board Meeting. Both Marlene Larson and Keri Anderson volunteered to be members of a Lakeview Cemetery Committee.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to grant the request of Sue and Robert Hyson, to purchase three cemetery plots in Lakeview Cemetery.
The Town Board accepts the offer of the Jacksonport Polar Bear Club to purchase an additional dry suit to add to the Fire Departments water rescue equipment. 2006 will be the 20th Anniversary of the Polar Bear Swim in Jacksonport.
Motion (George/Alvin/Passed) to Table the discussion of the Jacksonport Women's Club consideration of purchasing banners for the electric poles in the Town of Jacksonport.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to approve the purchase of a new computer for use by the Town Clerk.
Motion (Alvin/George/Passed [Jeanne - opposed]) to support the petition for Zoning Amendment - Town of Union - to effect a change in Sections(s) 2.05(3) Table of Principal Uses.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to recommend the Petition for Zoning Amendment - Door County Parks - to effect a change in Sections(s) 2.05(3) & create s.4.07(8) and create 4.078(8)(a) and create s.4.07(8)(b).
Correspondence - Alvin read a letter from District Attorney Raymond L. Pelrine, regarding allegations against Jacksonport Town Board. Mr. Pelrine indicates in this letter, he finds no violation of any laws by the Town Board. As a result, he is closing his investigation with respect to the complaint of Ms. Stewart.

Motion (George/Alvin/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
