TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Ben Logerquist.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram, and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the agenda, for the January 24, 2006 meeting as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of December 20, 2005 as distributed.
Treasurers Report: Treasurer Carol Oram reported as of December 31, 2005, a balance of $859,522.20. The total tax collected by the end of December was $756,334.02, a $7,000 difference from 2004. Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
Meeting open to Public Comment: Jackie Udell expressed her concern and interest in Agenda item 11a. Petition for Grant of Variance (Applicant: Ayres).
Jon Jarosh requests that the Town Board consider linking the Jacksonport Area Business Association website http://www.jacksonport.net to the Town of Jacksonport website http://www.jacksonport.org. He will research other possible sites to be linked to the Town website.
Deputy Lauder was present to acknowledge the people at the meeting and see if there were any questions he could answer. Patrick Eaton reminded Deputy Lauder that the Town of Jacksonport did not have a Town Constable at this time.
Sue Jarosh pointed out that people are still speeding through Jacksonport, especially in the summer. Deputy Lauder said he would make a note for officers to get back on speed control in the Town.
Joanne Kuhns expressed an interest in Smart Growth.
County Board report by Keri Anderson – there hasn’t been a County Board meeting since the last Town Board meeting, so nothing new to report.
Brilliant Cities franchise – Jamie Forest spoke at length. She will send the Town of Jacksonport a copy of the Town of Nasewaupee franchise agreement.
Copy machine – no new information at this time.
Town web site – no action at this time.
Kids Voting USA - presentation made by Mark Nelson. Motion (George/Aaron/Passed) to co-sponsor the Towns participation with the program during the April 2006 election.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept Brey – Stuewe & Braun Surveys, LTD. January 5, 2006 proposal to survey ½ mile of town road (Bagnall Road) from the S ¼ cor. Sec. 19 to the SW cor. of Sec. 19. Cost not to exceed $500.
Rob Burke, Community Development Agent, Door County UW-Extension gave an update on Smart Growth Planning. Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to not co-sponsor a grant proposal with the Towns of Egg Harbor or Sevastopol.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to support the request for a Grant of Variance (Applicant: Donald and Alison Ayres, Tax Parcel No: 016-00-34292724H1).
The Town of Jacksonport received notice that it was awarded $12,500 from the TRIP grant program.

Invoices were submitted for approval.
Motion (Aaron/Jeanne/Passed) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:56 P.M.
