TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Alvin Scharrig.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to accept the agenda for the February 27, 2007 meeting as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/George/ Passed) to accept the minutes of the regular Town Board meeting of January 23, 2007 as corrected. The Board requested that the corrected minutes would include an additional 19 names in support of the Schauer Park study.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Jacksonport Fire Commission Meeting of January 30, 2007 as presented.
Treasurers Report: Treasures books were closed February 8, 2007. Town has 2 outstanding Personal Property Tax bill in the amount of $270.34. Tax totals:
Real estate $1,978,358.13
Personal $11,312.96
RE special assessment $1,223.25
MFL etc $3,850.14
Total collected $1,994,744.48
Total dog $276.00
Bank Balance of January, 2007 $1,085,274.99
Town received General Transportation Aid for January in the amount of $22,289.51.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to accept the treasurer's report.
County Board report presented by Kari Anderson.
Meeting open to Public Comment: No comments.
Statement of Qualification/Proposal from Daar Engineering, Inc. – Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to move forward with working with Daar Engineering for the Town Road Review and a five-year plan for the town roads. Eileen will notify Daar Engineering of the Town Board decision to accept their proposal.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to purchase the memorial stone for Lakeview cemetery. Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to use three rows of eight names on each side of the stone. The typestyle to be used on the stone will be ¾” Roman, and the fee of $350 will be charged for each name setting. Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to approve the names of Mary Herlache and Claire “Bunny” Williams to be added to the memorial stone.
Motion (Jeanne/George/Passed) to renew the Towns agreement with Sevastopol School for the use of the Town softball field. Clerk will so notify Dr. Westhoff, Sevastopol School District Administrator.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to approve the request of the Door Central Snogoers, Inc. snowmobile club to add some culverts to the town roads, at the clubs expense. The roads approved were Loritz Road, Bagnall Road and Sunnyslope Road. The culverts must be galvanized and of a reasonable width, using Door County’s zoning for culverts.
Motion (George/Jeanne/Passed) to support the Petition for Zoning Amendment - Text (Applicant: Door County Resource Planning Committee) Section 3.04(4) of the county zoning ordinance. Clerk will so notify the Door County Planning Dept.
