Meeting Minutes
February 13, 2007
Attending: Kari Anderson, Alvin Scharrig, Tom Wilson, J.R. Jarosh, Paul Osburn.
Guests: George Bagnall, Jean Majeski, Tom Maher, Polly Johns.
Meeting called to order by Kari Anderson.
Motion to approve agenda-passed.
Motion to approve previous minutes-passed.
Public Comments: None at outset, but various comments shared as part of the ongoing discussions on each line of the plan.
Ongoing review of the plan, with input from the committee, and public. Several changes were added as a part of the plan, with further research on others. The changes are presented here in brief, with a rewrite of the plan to be done over the next sixty days. For a rewrite it is hoped that the original “word” or similar document can be obtained to allow the modifications to be simplified. Kari and Tom will work jointly on the rewrite. When done, it will be presented to the committee for review to determine if further work is needed before board and public hearing.
Key items included:
• Reference to the county wide updated document in 2005.
• Reference to the active historical society, and published history
• The people and economic numbers in Jacksonport need updating. Group will do research for this.
• Public land acreage was clarified.
• Drinking water management was referenced to the Door County Sanitarian
• Numbers three and four in goal 3 were deleted due to the lack of a constable for support.
• Number 5 in goal five was deleted as this has been done statewide, and adopted by the county.
• Verbiage in Goal 6, number three and six were altered to have consideration for a walking path on Cave Point Drive, and encouragement of a biking path on County A.
• In Goal 7, verbiage was changed to “encourage” improvements rather than the word “establish”. In addition, a line to provide Public access to lakes for recreation and water activity was added.
As stated, the document will be updated per the changes, with the committee to individually review, and determine need for further meetings.
Next meeting to set at a later date.
