August 21, 2008 Special Town Meeting
TOWN OF JACKSONPORT SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Ben Logerquist led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Fifty-seven people signed in at the door. Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, Clerk Eileen Phetteplace and Town Attorney Randall Nesbitt sat at the front table. George reminded the people in attendance that if anything came to a vote, it was only the electors of the Town of Jacksonport who were qualified to vote.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for the Town to sell or purchase property.
Motion (Tom Ash/Lisa Bieri/Passed) to direct the Town Board and Parks Committee to further research purchase of property and report back to the Town at the Annual Town Meeting in April 2009. There was a show of hands with 23 people in favor, 6 people opposed. The motion carried.
Motion (Frank Bley/Paul Witalison/passed) to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
