TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Chairman George Bagnall.
Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Alvin Scharrig.
Present: Chairman George Bagnall, Supervisor Aaron LeClair, Supervisor Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram and Clerk Eileen Phetteplace.
Agenda. Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to accept the agenda for the April 22, 2008 meeting as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the minutes of the Town Board meeting of March 25, 2008 as presented.
Treasurer Report: Bank balance as of March 31, 2008 is $30,531.77. Collection from Door County tourism for January and February was $214.63, also a final collection in February in the amount of $80.06. Received in March from the Dept. of Revenue was a check in the amount of $14,955.27 for lottery credits. -Treasurer, Carol Oram Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept the treasurer’s report as presented.
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to accept and approve payment of the invoices which had been submitted to the Town.
Public Comment. Marlene Larson would like to publicly thank Bill and Joanne Brungraber for picking up garbage along town roads as they take a walk.
Nancy Bemmann is the new member of the county board District XVII, representing the Town of Egg Harbor – Ward 3, Town of Jacksonport and Town of Baileys Harbor – Ward 1. She is going to serve on the Library, Legislative and Long-term Programs committees.
Fire Chief Brad Bley reported that the 1970 Mack fire truck is back in service. Plus Dave Burke has offered to store the truck rent free.
Four bids were received for the road work that was bid out. The bids were received from Fahrner, Scott Construction, Door County Highway Department and Northeast Asphalt. Town roads were discussed and it was decided that George would publish a bid request for additional summer 2008 road work. The Town Board did agree to budget up to $15,000 for crack filling.
The Annual Town Meeting directed the Town Board to get costs for sidewalk/walkways.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) to approve liquor licenses for Don Jervis, doing business as Town Hall Bakery. (A Class “B” license to sell fermented malt beverages for the six month period ending November 21, 2008 and a “Class C” wine license for the period ending June 30, 2009).
Motion (Jeanne/Aaron/Passed) to give the Town Clerk permission to issue picnic, cigarette, soda and operator licenses as needed for 2008/09.
Town residents were reminded that recycling will be held on May 10th and May 31st due to Maifest. George will schedule.
Motion (Aaron/George/Passed) – (Jeanne opposed) - to support the Petition for Zoning Amendment - Map (Applicant: Adam Drossart – Century Property Management Group, LLC) – Tax Parcel No. 016-00-22292744C. Clerk will so notify the Door County Planning Dept.
Correspondence was made available to the Town Board members.
