TOWN OF JACKSONPORT BOARD MEETING
Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Firestation
The meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairman Al Birnschein. Present: Chairman Al Birnschein, Supervisors George Bagnall and Jeanne Majeski, Treasurer Carol Oram and Clerk Teri Stauber. The Pledge of Allegiance was lead by Ben Logerquist.The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) to accept the minutes as read.
Treasurer Carol Oram reported a balance of 197,955.76. The Town received a recycling rebate check of 1,029.61.
County Board representative, Kari Anderson reported on the Michigan Bridge. Kari also had an update on the Smartgrowth progress in Door County.
Jim Smith updated the board on the Tom Jorns Petition. Mr. Jorn's decided to withdraw the petition at this time. Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) that legal fees be billed to Mr. Tom Jorns after reviewing them at the next board meeting.
Date of Road Review will be Thursday May 1, 2003 @ 8:30 a.m. Rain date is set for Tues. May 6, 2003.
Motion (JEANNE /GEORGE/PASSED) that the town write out one check for the four Board members attending the all day workshop on May 8, 2003.
Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) for Jim Smith to draw up legal Summons against Christ Larson. Revocation and reissuiance of licence for the Square Rigger Gallery will go before the board on May 1, 2003 @ 8:00 p.m.
Brad Bley resigned April 22, 2003 from the Constable position. Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) for the Town of Jacksonport to appoint Mr. Eaton for Constable.
Town Hall Bakery Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) to approve license providing all legal conditions are met..
Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) for Bill Sampone to continue working on the Park and Cemetery.
Motion (JEANNE/GEORGE/PASSED) that paint for the storm drains will be paid for by the town. The signs will be posted by all the storm drains.
Corresponence included an e-mail from Don Weise on the issue of the 3 min. max. limit at the meetings.
Invoices were submitted for approval. Motion (GEORGE/JEANNE/PASSED) to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
